North Polk elementary

My child goes to first grade in North Polk elementary school and how I honestly wish we had more choices to begin with where and which school to send him, unfortunately my husband is in the military who happened to be station here in fort Polk. I honestly think school system is hard on any of the children where children from kinder to 1st grader had to learn how to be quite and not a single word to say while on line or they get Reeces once a day but if they're not done on there homework or they did something wrong because they are maybe 6 or 7 year old, then Reeces is taken away... The way they come home with a whole lot of reading but it's not allowed to take math homework. Why did they call homework to begin with? I thought homework is something to take it home? Anyway, the 1st 6th month of my child being 1st grade my husband and I met his teacher once for a conference, there was no follow up except maybe a phone call that my child has an F for a math homework? (Again, math homework is not allowed to take it home) then next thing I know teacher left, and had a new replacement teacher.. Finally meet her during lunch, seems to be alright. Days later I ask my child where is his book, my 6 year said" my new teacher has different rules from my old teacher" and my son said he can get in trouble if he takes the book home, no wonder why he's failing no math homework to practice and book to read! Now they call me for a 2nd conference when school is almost over to tell me my son is probably will repeat the whole school year because teacher or councilor fail to communicate with me and it's strange that North Polk elementary has make up attendance but no summer school to make up for the grades.. Except they have a program if your child has an F they'll give your child an option twice a week for 6 weeks to make up with your child grade from F to only D and no exception.. I'm very dis-appointed because from what I know NO CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND! The only school I know that North Polk school be wilingly a child left behind....
